Remontant au milieu du XVIe si\u00e8cle, Monlabeur a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit autour d\u2019un imposant logis semi-troglodyte adoss\u00e9 \u00e0 un rocher dominant les prairies basses \u2014 un exemple remarquable en Saintonge.\nSa partie centrale est \u00e9clair\u00e9e par une \u00e9l\u00e9gante lucarne donnant acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un niveau de combles. L\u2019ensemble est domin\u00e9 par un pigeonnier cylindrique couvert de tuiles plates, renfor\u00e7ant le charme distinctif du domaine.\nAu d\u00e9but du XVIIe si\u00e8cle, le seigneur de Monlabeur \u00e9tait Charles Ozias, avocat \u00e0 Saintes.\nDe son mariage avec Marie Blanchard naquit une fille, Marie, qui \u00e9pousa Mo\u00efse Marchais, seigneur de Boisgiraud et pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019\u00e9lection de Saintes. Elle lui apporta la r\u00e9sidence de Monlabeur, transmise ensuite \u00e0 leur fils Mathieu, cur\u00e9 de Brizambourg.\nPar la suite, Monlabeur devint la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 de la famille Huon, dont le dernier repr\u00e9sentant au XIXe si\u00e8cle fut M. Huon de Monlabeur, juge honoraire au tribunal civil de Saintes, ancien membre du Conseil g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la Charente-Inf\u00e9rieure et pr\u00e9sident de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019agriculture de l\u2019arrondissement de Saintes.\nLa famille Huon occupa des fonctions municipales importantes \u00e0 Saintes aux XVIe et XVIIe si\u00e8cles.\nEn 1585, Jehan Huon, seigneur de La Tousche et procureur du roi, fut maire de Saintes.\nSon fils Denis lui succ\u00e9da en 1601, puis son petit-fils J\u00e9r\u00e9mie en 1623.<\/p>

At the beginning of the 17th century, the lord of Monlabeur was Charles Ozias, a lawyer residing in Saintes. From his marriage to Marie Blanchard, he had a daughter, Marie, who married Mo\u00efse Marchais, lord of Boisgiraud and president of the Saintes election district. She brought him the Monlabeur residence, which they later passed on to their son Mathieu, parish priest of Brizambourg.<\/p>

Subsequently, Monlabeur became the property of the Huon family, whose last representative in the 19th century was Mr Huon de Monlabeur, honorary judge at the civil court of Saintes, former member of the General Council of Charente-Inf\u00e9rieure, and president of the agricultural society of the Saintes district. The Huon family, whose coat of arms featured a blue field with a golden vine stock climbing around a silver stake, supported by a crescent of the same and accompanied by two golden stars at the top, held important municipal offices in Saintes during the 16th and 17th centuries.<\/p>

In 1585, Jehan Huon, lord of La Tousche and King\u2019s prosecutor in the election district, was mayor of Saintes. His son Denis succeeded him as mayor of the same city in 1601, and in 1623, his grandson J\u00e9r\u00e9mie, a lawyer at the Parliament of Bordeaux.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
